# configure datasource

The `configure datasource` command configures a data source by providing the access URLs and credentials for that source. In the notebook, you will be guided through a template form that will prompt you for various inputs, such as the data source name, type, access URLs, credentials, and so on.

## Syntax

```
configure datasource
```

## Parameters

To create a new data source:

1. Select **New** from the **Source** drop-down list.
2. Specify a name for the data source.
3. Select the type of data source and format, and specify the access URLs, credentials, and date and timestamp formats.
4. Click the **Save Configuration** button to save the new data source.

To change an existing data source:

1. Select the name of the data source from the drop-down list
2. Change the features of the data source.
3. Click the **Save Configuration** button to save changes to the data source.
