# export dataset

The `export dataset` command exports a dataset to an S3 bucket. It is used, along with the `import dataset` command, to transfer datasets between two Aizen installations. A data source must be configured to define the S3 bucket that will hold the exported dataset.

## Syntax

{% code overflow="wrap" %}

```
export dataset <dataset name>,source=<datasource name>  [,sql_clause=<SQL clause>,
                                                          limit=<number of rows>]
